Averie Klonowski joined the KETK News team in August 2022. Averie is from Phoenix, Arizona, and is excited to grow her journalism career in East Texas.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona where she majored in Journalism, with an emphasis in Broadcast, and minored in Communication. Throughout her college career, she interned with Arizona Rivals as a sports reporter for GOAZCATS.com where she reported on many UArizona sporting events and media sessions.
Averie also interned with KVOA News 4 where she reported on the City of Tucson, and coronavirus news in Arizona. Throughout her three and a half years of college, she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority which allowed her to experience three different leadership positions within the Panhellenic Community. Delta Gamma also provided several volunteering opportunities where she was able to volunteer for and learn more about the Service for Sight Foundation.
During her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time in good company with her family and friends.
Averie knew early on that she enjoyed public speaking, writing, and storytelling which led her to her career in journalism. With her background, Averie looks forward to serving the East Texas community and feels grateful to start her journey with KETK.
