Sarah Alegre joined the KETK News team in June 2020. She was born and raised in Riverside, California, and is happy to call East Texas her new home.
Her love for creating started at a young age. As a competitive dancer, Sarah developed a passion for storytelling through movement and artistic expression.
Sarah studied communication at the University of Southern California through the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism. She also earned a minor in the Entertainment Industry with USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. There, she channeled her interest in storytelling through numerous screenwriting classes and her role with Annenberg Media, USC’s independent news source.
Sarah worked as a Multimedia Journalist for USC’s Television and Radio broadcast and contributed to her school’s digital magazine, Neon.
Her curiosity in learning more about the world around her spurred the course of her journalism career. Sarah says acting as a voice for the community and a mediator in storytelling is what makes this passion so rewarding.
Outside of her studies, Sarah served as an ambassador with the USC Song Girl Program where she danced at all home and away athletic events. Besides dancing, she loves to play the guitar and explore the great outdoors in her free time.
