Sharon Raissi joined KETK in December 2020, just a few days after graduating college.
An East Texas native, she graduated from Jacksonville High School where she helped revive The Drumbeat newspaper and worked as Editor-in-Chief. In 2017, she went on to Sam Houston State University where she graduated a semester early with honors as a double major in Political Science and Mass Communications with a focus in multi-platform journalism.
While in college, Sharon worked at The Houstonian student newspaper, taking the reins as Editor-in-Chief in Jan. 2019 until she graduated in Fall 2020. She also had the opportunity to work as a summer intern with Dan Rather at News & Guts in New York City in 2019.
She was promoted to Digital Executive Producer in August 2021 then to Director of Digital Content in August 2022. She has been working with her team to constantly improve and expand coverage of the East Texas community.
