2 brothers in Longview shot minutes apart, blocks apart in separate shootings


LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – Two brothers and a child were shot in Longview at two Birdsong Street addresses Friday afternoon in what police say are related incidents.

Police were first called to a home in the 800 block of Birdsong at 12:50 p.m. on a report that a shooting had taken place and about 15 minutes later were called to second shooting at the intersection of Birdsong and Mobberly streets, said information from the department.

Officers learned that at the first location that a 30-year-man and a child had suffered injuries and were taken to a Longview hospital. The injuries were described as being non-life threatening.

At the second scene, the 28-old-year brother of the first man was shot. He also was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover, police said.

As of Friday night, no one had been arrested in connection with the shootings.
