One person is dead and three more have been hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident in Smith County.
According to DPS, the head-on collision involving two SUVs, happened around 6:00 a.m., Friday on Farm-to-Market Road 344, near County Road 181, near Bullard.
A GMC SUV driven by Taryn Coker-Minyard, 30, of Whitehouse was traveling westbound on Hwy 344 when she traveled into the eastbound land, where she hit a Chevy SUV head-on.
Coker-Minyard was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been taken to Lighthouse Funeral Home in Tyler.
The driver of the Chevy has been identified as Jessica Butler, 31, of Bullard. She and a 9 year old passenger were taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
Another 11 year old passenger was airlifted to a local hospital then subsequently flown to Dallas Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
The scene has been cleared and traffic is now flowing as normal.
