UPDATE: Harrison County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday evening that their preliminary investigation has concluded that the death of a Joyce Crane contractor was a “horrible accident.”

“The preliminary investigation indicates this is a horrible accident. Loss of life is tragic in any circumstance, and we will continue to keep this family in our thoughts and prayers.”

Eastman Chemical also released the following statement:

“Today, an employee of Joyce Crane was working at an Eastman site in Longview, Texas, when he was involved in a crane accident. He died as a result of his injuries. We are deeply saddened by this loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time. Any further questions should be directed to Joyce Crane.”

LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – A Joyce Crane employee is dead after an incident at Eastman Chemical Company in Longview, officials confirmed.

Captain Tyler Owen with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office said they have deputies on scene as of 11 a.m. Monday. They don’t yet know how many are injured, Owen said.
