2 victims identified in head-on wreck Sunday on US 79

RUSK COUNTY (KETK) – The DPS has identified the two victims of a Sunday morning head-on crash on U.S. Highway 79.

Benjamin Cole Montrose, 20, of Larue, was driving a Ford F-150 northbound about 7:45 a.m. on US 79 south at CR 4255, for an unknown reason, drove on the wrong side of the road and struck a southbound Toyota Tacoma head-on, according to the DPS.

The driver of the Toyota was Dakota Chase Pardue, 25, of Henderson.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene by a justice of the peace.

The crash remains under investigation.
