KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas (KETK) — One person is dead after a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 20, involving an 18-wheeler fire near Van Zandt County.
The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. at mile-marker 507. According to Texas DPS, a semi-truck carrying a trailer was traveling westbound while traffic began to come to a stop due to a previous crash.
The preliminary investigation determined that as a result of heavy traffic, the semi struck a pickup truck that was hauling a trailer. While those vehicles were stopped, DPS said that a second semi-truck carrying a trailer struck the first semi-truck.
The driver of the second semi-truck was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
