VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – One person is dead after being thrown from his car in a two vehicle crash early Monday morning.
The two vehicle crash occurred on State Highway 19, five miles east of Edgewood in Van Zandt County.
52-year-old Robert Leon Richardson of Grand Saline was traveling northbound when his vehicle started to skid due to ice on the roadway. The vehicle crossed the center stripe and struck a southbound Dodge Ram pickup.
Wearing no seatbelt, Richardson was thrown from his car and pronounced dead at the scene. He was taken to Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
The driver of the doge, 67-year-old Don Harold Treadway of Edgewood, was transported to CHRISTUS Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler in stable condition.
