A woman accused of being drunk while driving during a fatal crash has been indicted by a Smith County Grand Jury.
According to Smith County officials, Chasity Khan, 32, of Tyler, was indicted on May 12 on one count of intoxication manslaughter, stemming from a deadly wreck on December 1, 2015.
Khan was later arrested on April 16 by Tyler Police and she remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.
In the crash, an SUV drove off County Road 2120 and hit several trees. A passenger identified as Jason David Cook, 37, died at the scene.
Police suspected alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
