VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office has canceled a Silver Alert issued Friday morning for a 91-year-old man

The VZCSO says Barney Richardson has been found in Dallas and is now in protective custody pending his return home.

Investigators learned at about 5:45 p.m. that Richardson might be in the Dallas area. The VZCSO forwarded the Silver Alert advisory to the Dallas Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol & Criminal Investigation Division.

Richardson was found Northeast Dallas at about 7:45 p.m.

“I greatly appreciate the prompt response of all agencies involved,” said Sheriff Dale Corbett. “The investigative efforts of the Dallas Police Department (DPD) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) deserves commendation. It is very rewarding to be able to tell this family their loved one is coming home safe tonight.”

CANTON, Texas (KETK) – A Silver Alert has been issued for a 91-year-old Canton man, according to a tweet from Texas Alerts.

His name is Barney Richardson and he was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.

He stand at 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 172 pound. He drives a tan 2001 Ford Taurus. His license plate number is FCC2671.

Anyone with information where he is or where he might be going is urged to call the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office.
