One More Sunny & Very Warm Day….Then It’s Back To A Showery Weather Pattern Beginning Friday.

Weather

A  few thunderstorms were scattered across parts of Deep East Texas Wednesday, mostly in the area between Lufkin, San Augustine and Hemphill. They dissipated by shortly after midnight. Otherwise the rest of East Texas just had a mostly clear, very warm and humid day. However, the weather pattern will change during the next few days as the blocking upper ridge of High Pressure breaks down, allowing a weak upper level low pressure area to move northwestward from the north central Gulf of Mexico into Texas over the weekend causing an increase in shower and thunderstorm activity.  Scattered storms should be mostly confined to Deep East Texas on Thursday, but then expand to cover a good part of East Texas by late Friday and over the weekend.  Rain amounts could easily exceed an inch or 2  over the weekend in many areas with even heavier amounts possible in Deep East Texas where the thunderstorms should be more numerous.  After that area of low pressure weakens, a separate upper level storm system will slowly move in from the west early next week causing additional periods of showers and thunderstorms.
