WEATHER ALERT: Storms ending later tonight

Weather Talk

It has been a wet last 12 hours for our area. Storms continue now, and there is another wave expected late this afternoon and through the evening. Our severe threat is not over, and the Severe Weather Alert Day will continue through the late evening.

View the Interactive Radar here for a closer look at the storms.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect (extended) until 9 PM for Anderson County.

Heavy rain has been the #1 factor so far. Here are the airport rain totals. Many of you have received over 2 inches of rain today.

Storms are decreasing in their coverage. We will still keep the rain at a likely chance through the late evening hours.

The stronger storms should stay confined south and southwest of East Texas. Houston & Trinity counties look to be the only areas where we could see a strong to severe storm occur.

Heavy rain still will be our primary concern throughout the late evening. Wind gusts and hail are also both possible. We still cannot rule out a tornado.
